This is an outstanding opportunity for a Project Surveyor to join a venture capital backed, globally expanding company, where you would be working primarily in the renewable sector. We have ambitious goals to make hydrographic and subsea survey more autonomous, using ASVs, AUVs and autonomous ROVs to bring greater efficiencies to our clients.
As the Project Surveyor you would be an integral part of the project team and will contribute your expertise by providing day-to-day survey support with an emphasis on delivering excellence. In this role you will ensure projects are delivered in line with client survey requirements; reviewing contract documentation, authoring procedures and method statements. You will be responsible for organising all survey procurement and technical preparations, QC of field data and collating final client deliverables.
Communication and understanding client requirements are a key aspect of this role acting as survey liaison with internal and external stakeholders. You may be asked to support projects by attending client meetings and making short trips offshore.

Main Responsibilities
- Ensure projects are completed in a safe and efficient manner, in line with contractual requirements, and delivered on projected margin levels
- Support the tendering process in identifying project requirements and the methods by which Rovco can meet them
- Creation of survey procedures in preparation for projects
- Advise on procurement, installation and calibration of survey equipment
- Advise on equipment set up and testing survey systems and online navigation
- Provide support to the offshore survey team
- Guide the processing and data deliverables to meet project requirements
- Ensure data is collected according to contractual and company specifications
- QC and review data and reports in conjunction with the processing & reporting team
- Maintaining accurate survey records
- Take part in risk assessments and hazard identifications
- Providing survey and technical support for project activities on and offshore
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers
- Liaise with Survey Manager, establishing correct equipment requirements for mobilisations and demobilisations
- Assist Survey Manager in maintaining UpToDate departmental documentation
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- A solid understanding of survey principles and marine survey techniques
- Experience of Hydrographic/Geophysical survey mobilisation and data acquisition
- Experience of ROV survey mobilisation, data acquisition and inspection
- Operational experience of MBES, SSS, Mag, SBP, UXO, Inspection, pipeline, cable DOB, offshore construction, hydrographic and geophysical surveys
- Knowledge of acoustic positioning techniques and equipment
- Knowledge of survey data processing and reporting
- Interest in innovative and disruptive survey technology
- IHO Cat-A accredited B.Sc./HND in Surveying or equivalent
- 5+ years relevant offshore experience as Senior Surveyor / Party Chief
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- 2+ years relevant experience as a Project Surveyor
- Dimensional control/metrology experience
