IT Support Engineer
This is a new role due to our continued growth. As IT Support Engineer at Rovco & Vaarst, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional technical support to our internal stakeholders. You will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues and will provide prompt and effective solutions to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity for users in a hybrid environment.
You'll need to work in our office near Aberdeen 3 days a week supporting user's in person, based in other offices and remote users. There will be opportunities for you to develop your skills in support and gain exposure to other areas of the business.

Objectives & Responsibilities:
Rovco & Vaarst is an exciting and dynamic environment meaning these are likely to change as we grow, upon joining your objectives and responsibilities will include:
Ensure continued IT operations by providing first line support to internal users via phone, email, in person or ticketing system, assisting users with problems and account setups.
Prioritise and troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues, logging, tracking and escalating issues when necessary using ticketing system
Install, configure, maintain and update hardware, software and assist with network devices including routers, switches and firewalls
Create and update knowledge base articles for common issues and solutions
Training and promoting best practice to users on IT systems, security and applications.
Communicate effectively with end-users to gather necessary information for issue resolution and work with other IT team members to resolve complex issues.

Time spent in a 1st/2nd Line Support Technician or in a similar role.
Knowledge of Windows device management
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other common business applications.
Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Customer-oriented with a patient and positive attitude.
Comfortable working in a small hybrid team with fast-paced requirements
