The Opportunity:
As we expand our horizons with international contracts, we're launching a groundbreaking, minimally crewed autonomous surface vessel fleet. We're looking for seasoned and dynamic Chief Engineer’s to maintain these innovative vessels and lead us into the next era of marine technology. If you're a visionary with a passion for the sea and advanced maritime operations, this is your call to adventure.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our state-of-the-art autonomous surface vessels, ensuring peak performance and reliability in challenging marine environments.
- Apply your deep knowledge of marine engineering to maintain, repair, and optimize propulsion systems, navigation systems, and other critical vessel components.
- Address technical challenges in real-time, implementing effective solutions to maintain operational continuity and project timelines.
- Ensure all activities comply with international maritime safety standards and regulations, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical guidance and leadership to enhance project outcomes and drive innovation.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our ASVs, working with R&D teams to integrate the latest technological advancements.
You should apply if you have:
Essential:
- Degree or HND in Marine Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine engineering, preferably with exposure to autonomous, remotely operated or survey vessels
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on marine vessels with direct experience of Volvo Penta IPS power systems
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid marine engineering certifications and licenses.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work in diverse, challenging environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
